I’m excited to be a part of Ashburn CrossFit! I was first drawn to CF when I saw WODs worked from a neighborhood garage. Finally, I stopped my minivan, asked what they were doing, and if I could join them! I was hooked! It’s always a challenge, always changing, and never dull! I used to exercise by myself, but now I appreciate the camaraderie that comes from WODing with friends. They keep you moving and cheer you on! Before CrossFit, I was a runner and a biker, and I came into the box with very little strength beyond my legs. I could not handle a single pushup. There is always something to work on, but I’m a devoted CrossFitter because of what I have already gained. CrossFit keeps me fit in so many ways to handle whatever life brings. My girls call me CrossFit Mom! I take pride in showing them that women are strong and capable with both physical and mental grit.

I got into coaching because I love teaching! I taught fourth grade and 7th grade science for LCPS. I left to have more time for my family, but I MISSED TEACHING. So what better way to bring two of my favorites together, than to coach Cross Fit! I got my Level 1 in March and have been coaching since!

My favorite WODs include rowing, dead lifts, or goblet squats. Maybe not all together though. My least favorite include burpees or double unders, or 50 reps of anything.

Michele Hill

Coach

  • Certifications
  • CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer
  • CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
  • CrossFit Kids
  • CrossFit Powerlifting
  • Diane Fu Olympic Lifting Seminar
  • CPR/AED & First Aid

Michele started CrossFit in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2011 and was immediately hooked due to its fantastic community and ability to continue to provide constantly varied physical and mental challenges. She believes in CrossFit because it encompasses all the components of fitness into one nice and neat package; ok sometimes not so nice and neat. At the box, Michele’s passion is to help athletes reach their goals while striving to be a motivator, leader, and cheerleader. As a physical educator and a mother of two, Michele wants to instill the love of physical activity in future generations through physical education and CrossFit Kids.

Her favorite wods include double unders, snatches, rope climbing, monkey bars, and overhead squats. WODS that give her butterflies are any with thrusters, wall balls, and burpees.

Andrea Johnson

Coach

  • Certifications
  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
  • CrossFit Spot The Flaw Course

Andrea is a wife and mother of three who discovered her passion for fitness in the fall of 2000 when a friend gave her a book about training and weight loss. Andrea has since continued to train as well as run in a number of 5k’s, 10k’s, and she completed her first half marathon in June 2010.

In August of 2010 she decided to turn her passion into a business that would benefit others just like her. She obtained her Certification in Personal Training from National Academy of Sports Medicine. In February of 2012 she found CrossFit. That discovery was a game changer for her and her family. If asked, she will let you know that she only began to see awesome physical changes when she started to WOD!

As she developed her passion for fitness she has since obtained her Corrective Exercise Specialization (CES) and Precision Nutrition Certification to help her be the best trainer/coach she can be. And finally in May of 2016 she received her CrossFit Level 1. She is looking forward to the next season of her life’s mission; to help others acknowledge the power we all have within to create a healthy way of life!

Brandon Price

Coach

  • Certifications
  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
  • NASM Certified
  • CPR and AED Certified
Brandon’s journey into CrossFit started where all good things begin, Netflix. Shortly after stumbling upon “Fittest on Earth: A Documentation of the 2015 CrossFit Games” he sought out to find a local CrossFit gym and join this new way of training.
Brandon is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan where after enduring twenty-five years of 5-month Winters and windchill’s well below zero, he decided it was time to move to an area with a more reasonable climate. In April 2017 he packed up his Jeep and drove to Ashburn, Virginia.
In his own words:
“I have been a part of many fitness related facilities in my lifetime. I have been to other CrossFit gyms, fitness studios, and even ran a sports facility of my own for six years. And still, never in my life have I seen such a close, cohesive, community of people that is Ashburn CrossFit. I am very blessed to be a part of it.”

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I got addicted to crossfit, oh yeah!
In cold and rainy England born and raised
On the soccer field was where I spent most of my days
Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool
Went to Longwood university that was my school
When I was told about Crossfit, they said it was cool
Started 2 years ago and now i’m in love
A workout and gym I will never get tired of!

Long before I started Crossfit I enjoyed long walks on the beach and dancing like Beyoncé. Those things haven’t changed but crossfit changed my life for the better. Ever since my first workout I have been hooked. I’ve always had a passion for coaching and making people better so what better way to incorporate that than become a crossfit coach! I don’t have a favorite workout but I love body weight movements and double unders!

Shelby Hall

Coach

Hi All! My name is Shelby and I have played soccer for nearly 20 years. Throughout high school and college I played semi-professionally, represented the east coast region as a goalkeeper, and then played Division 1 at Longwood University. Soccer was my absolute passion my entire young life, and to improve my strength and on-field ability, I began lifting. Once I graduated college, I was immediately in search of a new team, a new coach, and a new way to spend my free time. I found CrossFit, and within minutes of walking into my first CrossFit gym I knew that it was what I needed. I suddenly had a family again, a team, a group of people who wanted to better themselves as badly as I did. I have been doing CrossFit for three years now. I compete regularly in RX competitions, Olympic Lifting (I won gold at my first meet, shout out to Lee for preparing me!) and I love moving heavy weight. I am now a high school teacher by day, and a soccer and CrossFit coach by night. I am very excited to be able to contribute to the ACF community!
